This buffet table is the largest, and most exciting piece David has made to date! But I may be slightly biased...#wifeproud!
During a typical trip to the hardware store, I was wondering around looking at the large slabs - David kept talking about wanting to create a slab piece. Well, being the good wife I am, I found this beautiful Canarywood slab and talked him into purchasing it! (I'm so helpful!) From there he designed and built this one of a kind buffet table!
With the slab, David was able to create a continuous water fall edge on both sides of the table. His continuous grain, design carried on with a set of flush faced drawers out of additional Canarywood boards. For the legs, handles, and drawer bases, David choose a much darker wood, Wengue. The legs are joined in a rectangle using bridal joints, and then supported with a cross bar using half lap joints. David also hand crafted handles to mimic the architecture of the legs.
